Coaching
Making the most of your workforce, or of yourself, is easier with a coach. A coach offers a sounding board and a different perspective which can be supportive, developmental and yet a positive challenge as well. We can enable you or those in your organization, to grow and develop relationships as well as resilience.
Mountain Associates are highly trained and skilled professionals. Whilst our core model is Transactional Analysis we also use a variety of approaches to enable clients' development. The strength of TA is that it is accessible to all those who use it. People can quickly develop an understanding and find ways to change, move on, and enhance their relationships with others.
As TA coaches we share models and concepts with our clients. In this way we equalise the relationship as well as offer a structure and way of working that the client can take away and use, and continue using, long after the coaching relationship has ended.
Our In-Depth Training
In order to become a Teaching & Supervising Transactional Analyst we have to undertake an additional 5-7 year training programme. Whilst supervision of trainees is different to coaching it is aligned to it and we are therefore highly skilled in what we do. We undertake live supervision in front of an international board of people who ask us questions on our philosophy and approach and check our congruity before passing or deferring us.
As coaches we understand the boundaries between psychotherapy and coaching. We do not attempt to undertake therapy with clients even though we may have the skills, the contract is different. A lot of coaching processes do not recognise the differences and change the contract with clients. Coaching is therapeutic without being therapy. If we believe that the coaching client has some issues that may benefit from therapy we will suggest that a psychotherapist is found so that deeper longer term therapy work can continue alongside the coaching contract we have with the client.
Outside of the deeper therapy issues, we recognise that personal issues may affect work, and work issues can affect personal issues, this means that we are likely to work in both areas so that integration and balance occurs.
